Sometimes I wonder if there's really someone out there following this blog. Why? Because I don't get comments. Please express yourself!! :-)

Algunas Noticias / Some News

Pues espero hayan pasado un feliz dia de las madres.
 
Recientemente me han estado pasando algunas cosas que han revolcado un poco mi vida. Aqui les comparto algunas relacionadas a mi camino creativo.

Pues ya hace 5 años consecutivos que he estado participando en La Feria de Plaza las Américas del verano. Este año no se darán las dos semanas usuales sino una. Así que la cantidad de artesanos ha sido reducida a la mitad. Al menos eso es lo que sé hasta ahora. Yo quedé fuera, o sea no estaré participando. Si surge alguna novedad les dejaré saber. Por otra parte me ha llegado invitación del Festival de la Hamaca en el pueblo de San Sebastián del 5 al 7 de julio del 2013. Mis planes son de estar allí a brindarles mis creaciones de polymer clay.
Como han podido darse cuenta si son seguidores de este blog últimamante he estado cosiendo bastante, sobre todo carteras. He estado cosiendo desde niña y ahora he vuelto con más entusiasmo. Las ventas de carteras en mi tiendita de etsy han sido buenas, mejores que las de creaciones de polymer clay. Llevo desde 1994 jugando y creando con polymer clay. Participo en Ferias en Puerto Rico vendiendo mis creaciones como artesana certificada en Polymer Clay. Wow: 19 años! Pues la costura me ha servido de terapia para unos momentos difíciles en mi vida personal estos dos últimos años. Así que he decidido que no estaré participando tan activamente en Ferias en PR. Sí seguiré vendiendo artículos de polymer clay en etsy aunque será menos cantidad que carteras. Poco a poco dejaré las ferias y sólo estaré vendiendo en etsy. Creo que la vida me ha ido dirigiendo en esa dirección. Mientras se me cierran puertas relacionadas con PC se me abren otras en la costura de carteras. Aunque no necesariamente creo en signos de la vida si veo lo que me ha ido sucediendo como una adaptación a nuevas aventuras.

Una noticia buenísima que recibí esta mañana es que fui una de las cuatro ganadoras en un sorteo de Sew Sweetness (www.sewsweetness.com) y me gané los 11 patrones de carteras que tiene Sara disponible en su tienda. Sara es muy talentosa y sus patrones son muy buenos (ya tenía algunos). Te llevan de la mano con muchas fotos e instrucciones para que puedas crear bonitas carteras. Hay para diferentes niveles de experiencia. Si quieres aprender a coser carteras te recomiendo que compres algún patrón y lo trates.

I hope you had a great Mother's Day.
Recently there has been different things happening in my life. I'll share some with you related with my creative journey.
I've been participating in the Plaza las Americas Summer Fair ( biggest shopping mall in PR) for five years now. This year they are going to have just one week; so almost half of the artisans won't participate. I'm one of them. I won't be there. If by any chance I hear anything different I'll let you know.
On the other hand I just received an invitation for the Hamaca Fair in the town of San Sebastián from July 5 to the 7. I'll be there.
If you follow this blog you have noticed that I've been sewing a lot lately, mainly bags. I've sewn since I was a girl but now my passion has grown again. My purses sales on my etsy shop have been good, better than my polymer clay creations. I've been selling in Fairs in Puerto Rico since 1995 and creating since 1994. That's 19 years!! So lately sewing is my therapy for some difficult times in my personal life. So I've decided not to participate so actively on Fairs. I'll still be in some but only a few. Little by little I'll stop going to fairs and you will only find my creations on my etsy shop. I'll be sewing bags mostly. I think life has been directing me towards that. I see it as entering new adventures in creating.
Some good news I received this morning was that I was one of the four winners of all 11 bag patterns from Sew Sweetness (www.sewsweetness.com). Sara is a great person and bag pattern designer. Her patterns are full of pictures and step by step instructions. I already had and sewn some of them. There are different skill levels to try. If you want to learn go get one. You won't be disappointed. 

Anteriormente, me parece que en enero me habia ganado un certificado de Chris W. Designs (http://www.chriswdesigns.com). Chris es otra diseñadora de patrones de carteras muy talentosa. Con el certificado compré dos de sus patrones. Aún no he tenido tiempo de usarlos pero créanme que están en lista.
Estos son los que compré. Son de nivel avanzado.


Previously ( I think it was in January) I won a gift certificate from Chris W. Designs  (http://www.chriswdesigns.com). Chris is another great bag pattern designer. I got two advanced level bag patterns but haven't used them yet. Yes, of course they are on my to do list. These are the two patterns:

Así que como ven mi vida me ha llevado a comenzar una nueva aventura. Por favor quédate conmigo siguiendo el blog. Si comenzaste a seguirme desde que este blog era sólo de polymer clay te aseguro que no te arrepentirás. De vez en cuando verás polymer clay nuevamente. O tal vez incorporaré el PC con las carteras!!
