Welcome to Norma’s Clay entry to the Bead Soup Blog Party!
This is my first time participating in the Bead Soup Blog Party organized by Lori Anderson. My partner Lupe Meter sent me some beautiful beads. What a big bowl of soup! Some of them including the focal beads (she sent two to choose from) were handmade by her using polymer clay. Yes, we both work with polymer clay although we have different styles and favorite color palettes. Be sure to check her blog here and see what she made with the beads I sent her.
Here are all the beads she sent me. There were so many that I felt a bit overwhelmed at the beginning but felt very grateful when starting to create.
I couldn’t decide which focal bead to use so I decided to make two necklaces. After all I had many beads to use. So for the first one I used her rectangular polymer clay pendant as a focal bead and some beautiful gemstones as secondaries. The only beads I added on this one were the round black beads, the rest are all from the soup.
For the second necklace I was forced to really get out of my comfort zone. I played a lot with this combination filigree polymer clay floral Lupe handmade. I usually don't work with florals (don't know why). So I combined it with some brass chain, filigree square links and clasp. Those beautiful oval marbleized beads are also handmade by Lupe with polymer clay.
I really liked the exercise and how the necklaces came out. Thanks Lupe for the beads and Lori for organizing such a great party. Now party on and go visit the next blog on the list (ok you can grab a snack first!).
Enjoy! And come back some other time!
Here's the complete list of partners so that you can keep going with the Blog Party!!

ResponderSuprimirYou got some incredible pieces to work with and I love what you made. The 2nd necklace is my favorite. Great job!
ResponderSuprimirI have to say that my favorite is the necklace with the flower focal. You did an awesome job with both of them. I really didn't mind the yellow beads you sent me, I saw it as a great challenge which only makes me grow as an artist. It is good for me to go outside the box. The members of my guild just loved your beads and loved my necklace! I had so many comments on that necklace. I wore it with a solid brown baby doll top and of course everyone loved the name I gave it! And as you can see from my comments, your polka dot beads were a hit! Thank you again! We will have to do another bead exchange between the two of us just for the fun it! 8D
